The scheme involves recycling of water between the Upper reservoir & lower reservoir and is the first major dam construction in India to use fly ash as a major constituent.It is the largest pumped storage scheme in the state. The scheme envisages 1.5 MUs of daily power generation during peak hours of
demand & pumping of water from lower reservior to upper reservoir during off-peak hours.
